What a day!! We spent the day in Yellowstone. Started late because the weather was a little chilly and wanted it to warm up. Last night was predicted to be 29-30 degrees and the high today was expected to be 50, I don’t think it made it in Yellowstone, on and off all day we had sleet and wind that was definitely cold. Here is a picture that shows how everyone is bundled up. Sure is not what we are use to.

And here is the Old Faithful Inn where we stayed 15 years ago.

While we were in the area we walked into the gift show and in the back is an ice cream and café, and Virena said no to ice cream, think that was a first. But we did share a bowl of chili, was good and helped warm us up that and the heater on the car running wide open.

While driving from the Old Faithful area to the west gate we did see buffalo and elk.

And the diagonal streaks are sleet as a reminder that it was COLD and that we are not in Florida.

And here are a few pictures of the hot springs and yes that is steam coming off of the water. Just in case you thought the magna under this area was not real.

Something to think about “Don’t let the good keep you from doing the better”

Today was the last day in Idaho Falls, Idaho. At the Snake River RV park. Not a place I would probably go back to, our site was long probably 70 ft but very narrow on drivers side our slide was on the lot line and on the passenger side there was a strip of grass that was just wide enough for a picnic table; even though we didn’t have on… some sites did but not ours.

While we were at Idaho Falls one day we took a ride to Jackson Hole and Grand Tetons. While in the Tetons we did see some Pronghorn and one buffalo. That was fun!

I know it isn’t a great picture because if being so far away. Looked much better when we were there.

Looking forward to getting better pictures soon!!!

Today we had the opportunity to take one of the most spectacular drives in the world. Utah Scenic Byway 12 – The All American Road. Here is the start of the drive.

And as you can see it was just about a perfect day, clear with great blue sky. And from here is just keep getting better and better.

And it seemed like every time we went around a curve there was another spectacular view. And never knowing what the next one was going to be.

And as we kept driving, this was about 120 mile drive that took us between 5 and 6 hours. Could have done it much quicker but we just had to keep stopping to see the beauty. If ever in the area I would strongly suggest making this drive, start early and make sure camera has lots of battery and plenty of room for pictures.

Here is my DW trying to get that perfect picture… who kept saying don’t get too close to the edge, be careful.

Here is what she was trying to get that perfect picture of.

As we were driving it seemed we kept getting higher and higher which means the views seemed to be from longer distance.

And here is just past the end of the All American Road. There are these wonderful views are Capitol Reef NP. We were told the red in these are from iron in the rock.

By now we were getting tired and knew that we had quite a drive back to Sunny (our motorhome). What a great day and knowing that we are going to see more great things.
