OK I’ve been slow posting, so lets see if I can update to where we are now.

While in Aurora outside Denver, we drove to Estes Park and from their drove through Rocky Mountain National Park, thank you Pat for being tour guide.

And during our drive we were at 12000+ feet and we could have had a snowball fight or built a snowman.

We found the air to be thin, noticed we were not use to being at this elevation.  Also while at the Ranger station/visitors center these were just off the parking lot

And here was another one right next to the road.  Yes we stopped to check this one out.  Not interested in us or the other people who stopped to take pictures.  And the antlers still have the velvet.

Also did a tour of the biggest YMCA facility then stopped for dinner at a nice Italian place Dunraven Inn down the street from the YMCA.

Denver

Today Virena and I decided to do a self guided tour of Denver and went by Mile High Stadium.

Near the stadium there is an amusement park and Virena was intrigued by the roller coaster, but not sure she was ready to ride!  As we drove around this area we saw lots of old warehouses and commercial buildings  that have been renovated for retail on the ground floor and condo/apartments on the upper floors, most of the building exteriors are original red brick.  I think it is great to see the way this area has been brought back to life.

Stay tuned more to come as we continue our exploring of Denver.

Grand Mesa, Colorado June 16

This is advertised as the biggest mesa.

It was such a great drive, green with numerous small lakes very different from the daily drives that we had been seeing with rocks showing everywhere.

This drive took us up to 11,500 and Virena’s lungs thought that was way too HIGH so be headed back down to 4500 where we were staying in Grand Junction.  On the way back we say deer one on the side of the road.

And these we say on the front yard of the house in Cedar Ridge, we watch these along with several neighborhood children.  And the deer seemed to be very comfortable with everyone around guess not hunting season yet.  How about the antlers still developing with the velvet still on them.

June 18 travel day to Denver CO

We pulled out of the campground and fueled up right off of the 70 then headed for Denver and it was a work day for the motorhome, we went from 4500 feet to 10,500 feet at the Eisenhower tunnel.  It did give me some stress but we did it without incident.  Just took our time.  Here are a few of the pictures Virena took while we were driving
