Here we are staring a new month. Just some updates about what we are doing here in Southern California, spending time with 2 sons, friends and attending Saddleback Church.

Here is a picture of youngest granddaughter Maeve, at 18 months and yes that is proud Dad on the left. We had a great dinner at NBC Seafood Restaurant, reminded me of when we were in China. All the food was served on a lazy susan so everyone can share all the food ordered.

And here we are at Saddleback Church listening to Pastor Rick.

Rick talking about “How God Tests Your Faith”

After church we went to Peppino’s Restaurant for dinner with members of the small group we belonged to that Bill was our great leader.

Just like old times

Here we are a couple of days later with friends having an early dinner at Wood Ranch barbecue near where we are staying with RV.

This is just to make sure no one thinks we are under eating while traveling. Actually my weight would be better if I was eating at home much more often.

Something to think about: How did giving start? was it survival because if I give to you when I have extra food is it an investment so you would be encouraged to do the same when you have extra food? or?

Happy Memorial Day

Thank you to each of you who have lost a loved one is service to our country.

As I’m thinking about today I’m reminded that if our life is to be important we need to work everyday on spending our limited time on spending our time doing the best thing, not just the good. For me this takes constant effort and thought because it is much easier to “waste time” then it is go be doing the best I can with my time. For example which is better? Playing video games on the computer or studying/reading. How about sitting watching TV or spending time with a loved on to develop a meaning full relationship? Or how about for us retired people, what is the best way to spend my time? This is something I’m committing to evaluating on a regular basis.

Please let me know what you think.

Today was another adventure in driving. Yes we are safe and secure in our spot for the night at Route 66 Golden Shores RV Park, in Topock, AZ. The campground seems to have everything; however, the road coming into the campground had cones down the middle of the street and the street was very narrow, I’m sure I hit mode than one of the cones. I did check out the restroom and was clean and well stocked.

Today’s adventures included 15 to 20 MPH wind that was out of the southwest and we were heading west on I-40 so the wind was pushing us around quite a bit in particular when 18 wheelers passed us. And since I’m only driving between 55 and 60 there were a lot of trucks passing. Then about an hour into our drive today it started to SNOW/HAIL it was not sticking to the road thank goodness.

But seeing ice build up on the windshield certainly got my attention. And reminded me that I was glad that I had put on new wiper blade while were at OK RV Park a couple of days ago. Also today was the first that we had really been driving in the mountains with this RV that we are calling Sunny, because it is suppose to only see sunshine and warm weather not temperatures in the 30’s and snow.

Then after this it was time to take a short break, when exiting I 40 the entrance ramp was closed so we got to drive on old US 66 through the town of Seligman, AZ.

The town is making an effort to make this part of old US 66 look like it originally looked from buildings to motels to vehicles, it ended up being a fun detour.

And as you can see Polly isn’t very happy with the way the weather looked.
