Today we played tourist by visiting the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest National Park. And what a day it has been. We started out with the Painted Desert and here are some pictures that do not come close to showing how spectacular the color is.

And then there is the wonders of the Petrified wood and here are a couple of examples

It was hard to convince myself to keep taking picture with the temperatures were in the 40’s and there was a 25 MPH wind with 40-45 MPH gusts. at after taking the first pictures in the petrified forest it started raining. I looked a Virena and we made an executive decision that it was time to head back to the motorhome and get warm, actually as long as we were in the car we stayed warm 🙂

Our campground for 3 nights was OK RV Park in Holbrook AZ. Everything worked as expected and we even did laundry on one of our down days while waiting for the wind to blow itself out, boy was that a dream that didn’t come true.

Something to think about: Are we staying too busy trying to spend time with acquaintances and missing out on building meaning full lifetime friends and relationship with spouse?

Today was a travel day, we left Enchanted Trails RV Park in Albuquerque that is a Passport America Campground. Our site was B-9, site had electric, water, sewer and wifi and all worked as expected, only issue was site was not level.

Our travel today started out great and then the wind started to blow and was sustained 20-30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph that made for an exciting day driving and hard to enjoy the beauty and unique views as we were driving. Here is an example of some of the rock formations in New Mexico.

And what a change from the red rocks to what looks like volcanic rock and this is just a small sample of what we saw today.

Then here is Polly enjoying the fact we are going into a new state.

And we are not officially in Arizona.

What a day we visited Petroglyph National Monument and definitely got our daily exercise and saw many Petroglyphs.

These are a few of the ones that we that we saw. The total area that has these is 17 miles long and we only walked about one mile. And we didn’t even see all of the petroglyphs that were on train we walked. And here are pictures of the volcanos where the rocks came from.

And in the middle of this high desert there are beautiful flowers.

Ah, what a great day.

Something to think about: What does fear do to a relationship?
