What a day today, we left Archusa Creek Water Park, Quitman, MS about 10:30 this morning heading west and drove about 250 miles today, that means we have traveled a little of 1000 miles of our trip. Yes we had a little rain, not like yesterday. I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how little traffic we have seen so far, I’m sure it will change. We are spending the night at Lincoln Parish Park in Ruston, La. We called our travel over at 4:30. And have a great view of a lake out the front window.  The park ranger said that to make additional money the park sell water from the lake to the fracking companies in the area, not too much because don’t want to have an adverse effect on the fish in the lake.

After getting setup and connecting water, electric, and sewer decided to do a project that I’ve wanted to do since we started the trip. Yesterday we stopped at Lowes and purchased materials for me to be able to put shelves in one of the closets so I would have places for my folding clothes. To complete the project I needed to modify the shelves we purchased and was successful and now instead of all the clothes on the bottom of the closet they are on 3 levels and sorted where it is much easier to find them. Next project was to clean the bugs off of the front of the motorhome.  While doing that I remembered that the windshield wiper on the passenger side of motorhome was bouncing all over yesterday when it was raining.  It took a while but I finally figured out the bolts that hold the wiper housing was loose and moving all over every time wipers were on. Took a while but using my phone as a mirror finally was able to see the bolts and after tightening the bolts I think the problem is solved.  Will know for sure the next time it rains while we are driving.

Just something to think about: love is the pinnacle of how one can commit to another. And without Love what is life?

All you ladies Hope you had a great Mothers day.

Lets see if I can get up to date on my posting. Friday night we spent the night at Sugar Mill RV Park just outside of Thomasville, GA. While waiting for our site I talked to a gentleman in a rocking chair on the front porch of the office who said he had been in the area for over 40 years and planned on spending the rest of his life there. The office staff was very nice and even set us up with a pull thru site so we didn’t have to disconnect the car. We didn’t use any of the facilities, our site was fairly level but was dirt and because of rain on and off during the day we did have some standing water. Made me nervous when pulling in to the site; however, the site was hard packed sand and we didn’t sink in or have any problems. Yes we would stop there again.

So this brings us up to Saturday today we drove longer than normal 350 miles to spend the night in Archusa Creek water Park located in Quitman, Mississippi. There is a 450 acre lake that has swimming, boating and water skiing. I’m going to try and do some walking in the morning to see what I think of the lake. Today’s drive was interesting because we were on a 4 lane divided hwy most of the day with very little traffic and here is Polly supervising our route and my driving.

and here is Polly later in the day after it had been raining a while and we were all getting a little stressed. Thank goodness the road was good and there was very little traffic.

On The Road 2019-05-09

Here we are with a different motorhome, 30 ft Itasca Sunova 30B 2004. This will allow us to visit more National Parks and State Parks because of the shorter length. We are excited about our new travels and exploring… watch and see where we are.

We spent the first night at Blue Berry RV Park. Yes it was a short drive of only 175 miles since we started late after spending the morning packing. The park was very net and clean, the only issue was the site we were assigned to had a defective 30 amp breaker so not a problem because most of the sites were empty and we just plugged into the site next door. The campground is a Passport America so we used our membership and total cost was $19. After getting setup I spent quite a bit of time trying to get fall the “love bugs” off the front of the motor home.

Hope you are having a great day.
